POSITION: Branch Manager
REPORTS TO: Executive Vice President
LOCATION: Red Mill Office
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Thursday
Friday
Some weekend and evening hours may be required as needed.
Serves the members of VBSFCU and/or assists other employees in the service of our members when needed. Manages branch office of credit union by performing the following duties personally or delegating to subordinates.
Grows and maintains relationships with members and business, community, and civic organizations to promote goodwill and generate new business.
Advises credit union management of external factors that may affect credit union marketing policies.
Suggests and provides data for marketing and sales promotion programs.
Directs, coordinates, and monitors activities to implement the credit union’s policies, procedures, and practices concerning granting or extending loans.
Maintains a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations.
Recruits and selects quality applicants for vacancies, ensuring that the credit union is adequately staffed with competent employees.
Trains employees in sales, service and operating procedures.
Assigns duties and work schedules to staff to ensure efficient functioning of the branch.
Manages the operations of the branch to comply with credit union policies and federal laws and regulations with special attention to the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering policy.
Establishes procedures for custody and control of assets and records to ensure safekeeping.
Manages and recommends the purchase of equipment and supplies.
Secures branch against burglary or vandalism or unauthorized entry after hours.
Facilitates open communications with senior management.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Directly supervises all branch employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the credit union’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; developing staff; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor’s degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or three years related experience /training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members and the general public.
