#DoGood – Current program runs thru October 31. Teachers can apply to have their school supplies (setting up their classroom supplies) refunded. Applications are on our website. We have  $1,000 already raised. Funds are raised when new loans are opened. The more loans, the more we can give back.

#DoGood March – June 30: $538.00 was given back to local charities

#DoGood PTA/School Accounts: We offer School PTA/Booster and School related club accounts a Fee free account as part of our #DoGood initiative. This saves them hundreds of dollars a year in fees, which they can use to support their schools.

Since 2000, Donated over $15,000 to the VBCPS Education Foundation. This program sponsors VBCPS Teacher Grants.

Since 2012, we reached over 26,720 students and donated over 1,600 hours to financial education in VBCPS. This includes Math Nights, Reality Store Simulations, in class visits, tours of VBSFCU and more.

Landstown High School/Marketing Department “Financial Friday” program. For 4 years we taught financial education with the marketing students on Fridays. 2009-2012.

Votech  Grant Program– 4 year student partnership. Students created commercials for us to use, in return we granted the class funds to use for classroom supplies.

Since 2012, serve as a speaker for the C-CAP Senior Night.

Since 2005 we have had representative serve on the VBCPS Partnership Advisor Link & The General Advisory Counsel for Career & Technical Education.

Since 2006, we have partnered with Green Run ES to offer “Financial Fitness Week”. This week brings financial education/consumerism lessons to the Pre-K – 5th grade students. 500+ per year.

Since 2006, over $17,000 has been “given back” to our teachers in the form of classroom supplies (Lessons we come teach).

Since 2007, we have co-sponsored and run Camp Millionaire, a weeklong summer camp for rising 7th and 8th graders. This is a yearly value of $800 to our local community.

Since 2011, donated 400 backpacks a year to the VBCPS Social Services/Jumpstart Program. This is done thru a combination of member donations, CU staff donations, and Cu donations.

Since 2011, donated to the sports program of 8 high schools donated amounts range between $500 and $2,500. Our donations have helped school purchase items needed for the football, basketball and soccer programs.

Since 2014, sponsor a Student run credit union at Cox High School, a co-op program tied to the Financial Management Class.

Since 2014, VBCPS STEM Trifecta Sponsor. The STEM robotics/cyber security and MarkersBot programs are in almost every ES, MS and HS in VBCPS. In June, they all meet for a competition held at the VB convention center.

Since 2014, VBCPS Title One STEM camp sponsor.

Since 2013, VBSFCU staff has personally donated  quarterly to the VBCPS Beach Bags program

Since 2015, partnered with Junior Achievement to support the new Entrepreneurship Class in 11 high schools.

Teacher of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Retirees over 50 years. We donate gift baskets to these programs events for 10 years. Value of $6,700.

We are an official Partner in Education with 23 VBCPS Schools.

We sponsor 4 Elementary school savers clubs.

Numerous local, state and national awards for our Financial Education Outreach.

Since 2011, BankOn Steering Committee member.  BankOn is free financial education program for adults in Hampton Roads. The city of VB spearheaded the program, and it has recently been adopted by other local cities. Our staff serve as coaches and teachers for the program.

Served as a community consultant for the 7th grade Financial Skills class, and high school Financial Management class.
