In order to maintain the security procedures that protect your account information and identity, we require proper verification for opening up an account. Please bring two of the three acceptable forms of identification, such as: Driver’s license or state identification card, Social Security card, birth certificate* or a passport.

You will also need to bring $25.00 for an adult account, or $5.00 for a youth account (check or cash) to fund your savings account. This amount is your share of the credit union and stays in your savings account. There is no minimum required for your checking account.

If you are unsure of what constitutes a third form of identification or have questions on any of the forms, please call 757-463-3650 ext 336 or toll free: 1-877-482-7328.

Requirements for new accounts: We will need a membership card filled out completely, the Patriot Act form signed, and two forms of identification. If you are mailing in your application please have the application notarized and include photo copies of your identification.

Valid identification includes a state issues driver’s license or identification card, military I.D., Social Security card, or paycheck. If you are not sure, call. We do need identification with your Social Security number pre printed on the document.

We also will need to know how you are eligible for membership. This would include a copy of a paycheck if you work for the school system, or a copy of your child’s report card if your child attends school in VBCPS or St. John the Apostle.  If you are joining because a family member referred you, please list that person’s name on your application.

All accounts are verified by Equifax. For more information on VBSFCU accounts call 757-463-3650 ext 336.
