For 60 years, Virginia Beach Schools Federal Credit Union has served members and brought value by offering convenience and access to financial products and services. We have been proud to help members achieve their financial goals.
On behalf of the Board of Directors and Leadership Team, I am excited to announce our plans to merge with Langley Federal Credit Union. Merging with Langley will allow us to continue acting in the best interest of our members by providing more access, more value, and more rewards to members and the community.
This merger represents a partnership between two credit unions that share values, plus a real commitment to our members and the communities we serve. As the financial services landscape continues to evolve, merging with Langley allows us to immediately enhance what we can offer members. This includes access to more branch locations, more products and services at competitive rates, and enhanced technology offerings that will provide greater 24/7 convenience.
We are excited to share we have received approval from our regulators. What happens next? Virginia Beach Schools FCU members will be sent the official Notice of Meeting and ballot on August 31, 2021, and will have the opportunity to vote until the day of the special meeting which is scheduled for October 19, 2021.
There’s more than one way to get to awesome. Whether your dream is a boat, trailer, RV, motorcycle, snowmobile, or ATV, we have low-cost financing to make it happen.
What do you have your eyes on?
We’ve got what you need:
Research boat financing and boat loans, and you’ll discover that financing a boat is faster and easier than many people think. Buying a boat isn’t nearly as difficult as one might guess, and arranging boat financing usually not very different from financing a new car.
Just how much will the monthly boat loan payment cost you? Visit our Loan Calculator to get an idea.
Once you’ve determined the exact model you want to buy (the Boat Buyer’s Guide can help with that) and you know the purchase price, give us a call.
Some buyers will opt for financing the boat by taking out a home equity line, second mortgage, or a personal loan. This can lead to a lower interest rate but the downside to this option is that it can also add paperwork and make the transaction a bit more complex. However, it may be worth considering because you might also enjoy some tax benefits by structuring the deal this way.
Weigh all the financial considerations, Even if you have the cash to buy a boat on the spot, it’s important to consider your loan options. Financing can help you maintain liquidity, but more importantly, it might also help you get into a more expensive “dreamboat” that might otherwise seem out of reach.
Yes! It’s always a good idea to be pre-approved by VBSFCU before shopping. We review your credit report with you for free and will help you make the right decision on how much you can afford before you shop for your boat, RV, or motorcycle!
