What is Identity Theft?

Identity theft occurs when your personal information –  without your permission is used to commit a crime or fraud.  Fraudsters committing these crimes do so in person, on the telephone, electronic communication, and/or using the internet, email or mail. Offenses involving identity theft are on the rise. It’s not “if” your identity will be stolen, it’s “when.”

Will you call and ask me for personal information?

We will never contact you via email or phone asking for personal information.  Similarly, if you receive a phone call and are not sure it is from the credit union, ask the person their name offer to call them back at our regular number. If you receive a suspicious email, please contact us immediately. In addition, do not click or look at the connecting links.
