If you think this crime couldn’t happen to you, think again. Identity theft is one of the fastest-growing crimes in the country. The effects are devastating; it can take months to clear up your damaged credit history, and in the meantime, it may be impossible to get a loan, to rent an apartment or even to write a check.

If you are using an old internet browser, you are opening the door for hackers and other cybercriminals. The new versions include security patches that will help keep your information safe. To protect you, changes to internet protocol is requiring all internet users to update their browsers. Furthermore, If you do not, your access to home banking, bill pay, and other payment platforms will be denied. The following browsers are the most current as of March 1, 2018

How can you Stay Safe, Stay Updated, and Stay Secure? 

On November 16, 2016, at 6 a.m. ET,  our Bill Payment program disabled all Digital Encryption Standard (DES) ciphers. Equally important, Anyone using a browser that depends on DES ciphers should use a more current and secure browser to avoid connection disruptions. In order to prevent disruptions, we recommend upgrading to any of the supported browsers listed below. Although browser options are included for older operating systems, we recommend using secure operating systems. If you are are a  Bill Pay user, consider security risks if using unpatched and unsupported operating systems.

What does this mean?

If you have trouble accessing Bill Pay after November 16, it may be because the device you are using is not on the most updated software, or you are not using the most current version of your preferred browser.
